ANTI-CORROSIVE TREATMENT
One of our most important works last year has been carrying out an anti-corrosion treatment on the aerial and submerged parts of settling bridges.
The technical procedure has been the following:
- Deoxidation of the surfaces affected by corrosion using abrasive blasting in grade Sa 2 according to the ISO 8501 standard. On the rest of the surface not affected by corrosion, gentle sandblasting has been carried out without stripping to promote the adhesion of the following layers. In the motors, reducers and integrated equipment that could not be sandblasted, the abrasive blast has been replaced by manual derusting using an electric grinder and metal brushes.

General application of a high thickness epoxy intermediate layer (70 μ) based on Hempadur Mastic 4588 from Hempel (or similar, e.g. E90 Metallgrund from Geholit & Wiemer).
Application of two finishing coats of Hempel s Polienamel 5510 (or similar, e.g. Wieregen M87 from G & W) two-component aliphatic polyurethane finishing enamel of 30 to 35 μ dry film thickness, color to be defined by the client.
